Robert Kirchhoff

Robert Kirchhoff (born in 1968) graduated from the Department of Documentary Film at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (VŠMU). In his filmmaking, he focuses primarily on socially-critical themes. He cooperates primarily with Slovak and Czech TV, the third sector and independent producers. Besides film directing, he also deals with film programming and production. He is founder and director of the civil association (a ltd. company since 2007) "atelier.doc" dealing with the production of independent documentary films and publishing books and CDs. From 2003, he works at the VŠMU in Bratislava as head of the seminar of creative documentary at the Department of Documentary Film. He lives in Bratislava.

Only a moment ago, 19-year-old medical student Ludmilla Cervanova had smiled into the camera. Her body was found in a river in a small Slovak town in 1976. Seven men were responsible for the horrifying rape and death of the girl. Fortunately, the perpetrators were apprehended and condemned. But though Ludmilla was drowned alive, oddly enough no signs of violence could be found on the body...

If only because Das Filmfest has prepared a selection of the most interesting films from the current production of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. From October 19 to 23, Prague’s viewers can visit Lucerna and Atlas cinemas and choose among almost 40 films, ranging from historical films and psychological drama through genre and art films to crazy comedies.
