Jan Rendl



Jan Rendl is a Czech documentary film director, graduate from Documentary Film Department at FAMU, Prague. Born on 14 May 1977 in Prague. Studied philosophy and teology (2005-2008), journalism (2005- 2008) and documentary film at FAMU.

A film about Prague’s secret church during the totalitarian regime and after the revolution, describing its activities and confrontations with the state power. An interesting and thrilling history of good and evil, courage of the individual actors, the moral stance of people in extreme situations when exposed to the pressure of the circumstances. What motivated these people to sacrifice themselves, or, in some cases, even their whole families in the name of their “spiritual belief”?

The festival of German language films is drawing near. Don’t miss it!

If only because Das Filmfest has prepared a selection of the most interesting films from the current production of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. From October 19 to 23, Prague’s viewers can visit Lucerna and Atlas cinemas and choose among almost 40 films, ranging from historical films and psychological drama through genre and art films to crazy comedies.
