NEBOJSA SLIJEPCEVIC- CV

Nebojsa Slijepcevic was born in 1973 in Zagreb, Croatia. In 2005 he graduated with Film Directing from the Academy of Drama and Art, also in Zagreb.

He directed numerous TV documentaries and series (Direkt, City Folk...), but also creative and author driven documentaries (Real Man’s Film, In 4 Years, Of Cows and People) for which he received awards from various festivals (Golden Beggar in Kosice, Slovakia, EDN talent grant at Sarajevo FF, human rights award at Sarajevo FF, best director at Verona FF, Audience award at Zagreb Dox…).

Nebojsa is also the author of a short animated film Dog / Rabbit, short fiction Boxed and short fiction Slap in the Face, which is part of the fiction omnibus Zagreb Stories.

In 2013. he finished his first feature documentary, international co-production Gangster of Love, coproduced by Restart (Croatia), ZDF/ARTE, Kloos & Co. (Germany) and Subcultura Films (Romania). Film was premiered as opening film of Zagreb Dox 2013 where it won audience award for the best film. International premiere of the film was at Hot Docs 2013 and european premiere at documentary competition of Karlovy Vary FF 2013.

Nebojsa is also cinematographer and editor on his recent documentary films – Gangster of Love and Real Man's Film.

Nebojsa is one of the main tutors at regular documentary workshops at organization RESTART. This year Nebojsa is teaching at his most ambitious project so far: a four month long school of documentary film, aimed at people of all ages who want to direct their first documentary.

Nebojsa is living and working in Zagreb, Croatia.

15 documentary festival hits in the second edition of KineDok

Last year saw the launch and pilot edition of KineDok, a unique international project presenting the screenings of creative documentary films enhanced by the debates with the authors of the films and various experts and by other interesting accompanying events. In 2016, this project, organized by the Institute of Documentary Film, offers 15 more European documentaries and brings site specific screenings also to the new audiences in Poland and Norway. Within the Czech Republic, the fans of creative documentaries have a chance to visit more than 150 screenings at at least 25 diverse places and explore current Czech and European documentary production.

International My Street Films project launches its third edition

International My Street Films project launches its third edition

The My Street Films competition, which invites the public to make their own short films from their surroundings, launches its third edition in the streets of Central Europe. The project originally comes from London where it mapped the city on the Thames through film stories about the streets and their inhabitants. In collaboration with DAFilms.com, the film map has expanded to the Czech Republic and from there to Slovakia, Poland and Hungary.
